Abstract:China Council for International Co-operation on Environment and Development (CCICED) has been established for over 20 years. In the past 20 years, CCICED has researched on important environmental and developmental issues and provided millions of provident ideas and suggestions. It has also enhanced the communication between China and other countries on environment related issues.

Although China has made achievements in environmental protection, we should also see that China's current environment is still facing a lot of problems. Air pollution, solid waste, water crisis, heavy metal pollution problems has become increasingly prominent. Disasters caused by climate change, and the potential impact of the disease will become important focuses for future China.

Over the past 20 years, China's environmental protection achievements by CCICED have been recognized by other countries of the world, governments, international organizations and institutions, international non-profit organizations and multinational corporations in various ways. They offered funds for China’s environmental development.
The next decade is a critical period for China's environmental development. Building a resource-saving and environment-friendly society is an important part of the China's development, and also a guideline for future environmental protection in China.
